Introduction of Whitewater Memorial State Park
Whitewater Memorial State Park, part of the Brookville Lake-Whitewater Memorial State Park Complex, is a great family getaway with its 200-acre Whitewater Lake, access to Brookville Reservoir, and other recreational facilities. Around the man-made lake, there are numerous opportunities for shoreline hiking, flat-water boating, swimming, fishing, and camping. The proximity to Brookville Reservoir provides numerous opportunities to observe migrating flocks of birds.
Whitewater Memorial State Park has 9 miles of horseback riding trails that can be accessed by day users as well as from the horsemen’s campground. Weather permitting, the saddle barn concessionaire provides hayrides, guided trail rides, and sleigh rides.
Whitewater Memorial State Park Camping
There are both electric and non-electric camping sites available, as well as modern restrooms and showers. There are horsemen’s primitive and youth tent primitive sites with pit toilets. Everyone has access to potable water and dump stations. The occupancy limit is 14 consecutive nights. All sites can be reserved. In addition, twenty modern cabins are available all year. Guests are responsible for providing their own linens. These are housekeeping cabins, which the renter is responsible for cleaning and preparing for the next occupants. The maximum number of guests per cabin is six. Two cabins are accessible, while the others are not. Two of the cabins accept pets, while the others do not. All of the cabins are non-smoking. To rent a cabin, you must be 21 years old. All camping areas and cabins have a 14-night occupancy limit. The Central Reservation System is where reservations are made.
