Introduction of Westcott Beach State Park
A well-liked day-use and camping area on Lake Ontario, Westcott Beach State Park features broad, grassy meadows and rolling, forested hills that are protected by Henderson Bay. It provides peaceful campsites that are perched on a bluff with a breathtaking outlook. To accommodate fisherman interested in the fantastic black bass fishing in Lake Ontario, a small marina is located next to the long, sandy beach. The park also features a playground for kids, picnic spots, and hiking routes that may be used for cross-country skiing in the winter.
Westcott Beach State Park Activities
Boating
A boat launch that is ideal for launching both kayaks and powerboats is located next to the long, sandy beach in a tiny marina.
Fishing
Black bass are one of the fish that lure anglers to Westcott Beach State Park.
Hiking
Hiking routes weave over and through the forested landscape and lead you to the back of the park, away from the lake. The rest of the park is connected by walking trails that travel between the lakefront and the campgrounds.
Picnicking
The pleasant wind from Lake Ontario will be enjoyed by picnickers while they have their lunch or continue to play on the playgrounds. Both facilities and playing fields are accessible.
Hunting
In-season waterfowl hunting is allowed.
Camping
Sites for tents and trailers are dispersed throughout the park and are simple to reach via the path network. Some campgrounds are perched on bluffs with breathtaking views of Lake Ontario below. There are three camp site loops with access to playgrounds, playing fields, and camper leisure activities (each with a separate open/close date). The locations vary in how near they are to the water. In the park, group camping is permitted. After using the playgrounds, dumping stations, picnic spots, and playing fields, campers are welcome to take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront.
