Orchard Beach State Park is a 201-acre (81-hectare) public recreation area on the shores of Lake Michigan in Manistee Township, Manistee County, Michigan. The state park, located three miles north of Manistee, offers camping, hiking trails, and scenic views of Lake Michigan. Due to high lake levels, the beach has been closed.

Orchard Beach State Park Activities

Picnicking

The picnic area includes an open picnic shelter, picnic tables, grills, a children’s playground, and plenty of shade.

There is a large stone pavilion with restrooms available for rent. This structure is ideal for groups of up to 200 people. Reservations can be made by calling the park office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Swimming

Stairs lead down from the campground to Lake Michigan’s sandy shoreline.
