Introduction of Memorial Lake State Park

Memorial Lake State Park was established in 1945 and is completely surrounded by Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, the Pennsylvania National Guard’s base of operations. Despite the fact that it is surrounded by the base, it is completely open to the public and there are no checkpoints to get here.

Memorial Lake State Park was named in honour of Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers who fought in World War I and World War II, as you might have guessed from its name and location.

Boating

Two boat launching ramps, a courtesy dock, and 56 overnight mooring spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the 85-acre Memorial Lake. Sailboating and sailboarding are popular activities on Memorial Lake.

From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, a boat rental offers canoes, paddleboats, rowboats, sailboats, and sailboards.

Fishing

Largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike, yellow perch, white and black crappie, various panfish species, bullhead, channel catfish, carp, and sucker can be found in the 85-acre Memorial Lake. Trout can also be found in the lake, but they are not stocked. The lake is easily accessible for fishing from the shore or by boat.
