Introduction of Lakeside Beach State Park
An spectacular panoramic view of Lake Ontario, as well as the nearby fields and fruit orchards, is provided by Lakeside State Park. Although swimming is prohibited, the park attracts a large number of visitors thanks to its 274 campsites, four miles of hiking and biking paths, lakefront fishing, picnic areas, disc golf course, and playing fields. Hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are all wintertime activities.
Two 18-hole disc golf courses, Wind Rush Alley and The Beast, can be found in Lakeside State Park Shore Winds. One of the most beautiful vistas of any disc golf course in the United States can be found on these well-designed courses, which are both difficult and gorgeous.
Visitors drawn to the neighbouring Hamlin Beach State Campground’s sandy beach and easy access to swimming frequently pass by this lakeside park. This 743 acre lakeside park is devoid of a public swimming facility while providing 274 campsites (some with lovely lake views) and a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Ontario. On hot summer days, when Hamlin’s shores are thronged with people, Lakeside Beach is almost completely deserted.
The park does provide plenty of chances for fishing and picnicking in addition to 4 miles of hiking and bike paths. Because it doesn’t have a busy beach, several people use this park as a quiet retreat from neighbouring Hamlin. If all of the Hamlin campgrounds are taken, one might also camp here.
Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are typical winter activities in this park.
History
Simply put, this park formerly consisted of farms, orchards, and lakefront cabins. The state started purchasing property in 1962 and created a park in 1968 as interest in the neighbouring Hamlin State Park grew. Old cottage concrete foundations may still be seen in the camping area, providing historical context for the region.

In-season waterfowl hunting is allowed.
