Introduction of Lakeport State Park

Lakeport State Park, located along Lake Huron, gives residents of southeast Michigan access to the Great Lakes. The park is divided into two sections by the village of Lakeport. The two campgrounds have a total of 250 campsites. All sites include a picnic table, fire circle, electricity, modern toilet/shower buildings, and several pull-through sites and camp pads for easy leveling. Metal detecting zoneLakeport State Park is now accepting reservations for its new camper cabin on Lake Huron. The camper cabin is ideal for families who want to go camping but don’t have a tent or a camper. The cabin sleeps six people and has two bedrooms, each with its own set of bunk beds, as well as a full-size sleeper sofa in the living room/kitchen area. Electric heat is provided in all three rooms. A refrigerator, microwave, and movable counter/cabinet unit for storing dishes and supplies are available in the living room/kitchen. The cabin has its own fire circle, picnic table, and grill outside.
