Introduction of Kring Point State Park

Kring Point State Park spans 61 acres and faces Goose Bay to the south and the St. Lawrence River to the north. The park is located on a peninsula in Jefferson County, New York, and offers breathtaking views of the Thousand Islands. Swimming, fishing, and paddling are the most popular outdoor activities. Furthermore, nearly all of the campsites have fantastic views of the water. Hunting, outdoor walks, and picnicking are some of the other activities available. Visitors can rest and relax on the benches while listening to the endless musical melodies of the loons and viewing the beautiful sunset. Among the fauna you will encounter during your visit are seagulls and crows.

This is a must-see place for RVs.

Visitors can camp in this tranquil and peaceful area just 10 minutes from Alexandria Bay. The campsite, which has 100 RV spaces to select from, is open to tourists from the last Friday in April through Columbus Day each year. Water sports lovers can secure one of the 45 sites with direct access to the water. Bring binoculars with you in your campervan to get a closer look at the ships and cruises cruising on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Despite being one of New York’s oldest state parks, Kring Point State Park is clean and well-maintained.

Kring Point State Park Activities

Hiking

Hiking is a terrific pastime that people of all ages may enjoy because it is dotted with the most beautiful nature trails. Hiking trails are limited due to the park’s modest size. The hike to Morgan Island is one of the more interesting routes. So, if you’re camping in Kring Point State Park, make the half-mile stroll along the little bridge to this small but beautiful island a priority. Restrooms, a dock, and a small pavilion are located on the island. The park’s attractiveness is enhanced by the large boulders and mountainous sections. Guests can enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter.

Picnicking

Kring Point State Park has one of the most tranquil day use sites in New York, surrounded by spectacular views of Goose Bay and the St. Lawrence River. The picnic area is close to the beach and has tables, shelters, and benches. Guests can eat their picnic lunch while listening to the St. Lawrence River’s tranquil waves. The picnic area is not pet-friendly. A kid-friendly playground is nearby for families.

Fishing

Kring Point State Park offers a variety of water sports, including fishing in the river or in the bay. The St. Lawrence River, known for its crystal blue waters, is home to an abundance of bass. Anglers can fish from the dock, the banks, or a kayak. Interestingly, sportsmen living in water-accessible campsites can fish right from the back of the sites. Goose Bay is also home to largemouth bass and northern pike. Children can spend all day fishing from the children’s dock. Morgan Island has additional fishing opportunities.

Boating

This park is boater and kayaker friendly, with many piers on both Goose Bay and the St. Lawrence River. This thrilling activity can be enjoyed by both novice and expert paddlers depending on the season and water conditions. After parking your RV in one of the many spaces available near the bay and river shores, you may board your boat for a once-in-a-lifetime excursion. Two boat launches are provided for your convenience.

Hunting

Hunting is a popular summer activity for the majority of park visitors. The most commonly hunted game is waterfowl. Typically, hunting season begins on Columbus Day. A hunting licence is necessary.

Swimming

Kring Point State Park on the St. Lawrence River has a small sandy beach surrounded by rocky cliffs that is ideal for a variety of exciting water activities.
