Honeymoon Island State Park, located just a short drive from Tampa, provides visitors with a relaxing respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Honeymoon Island State Park has more than four miles of beach to explore, as well as a three-mile trail that takes you through one of Florida’s last remaining virgin slash pine forests. It is one of the most popular state parks in the state.
When looking up into the sky, eagles, osprey, and great horned owls can be seen, while on the ground, gopher tortoises, raccoons, and armadillos can be observed.
A visit to the Rotary Centennial Nature Center provides visitors with information about the park’s history as well as the park’s natural resources. Find out how Honeymoon Island got its name by watching this video!
Swimming, fishing, shelling, hiking, and bicycling are just a few of the popular activities available at Honeymoon Island State Park, which makes it a great place to unwind.
The park also serves as the ferry terminal for access to Caladesi Island State Park, which is another unspoiled state park.
Note: This is not the official Park website. However, it is an easy-to-use site, with everything you need to plan a trip.
