This state park, located four miles southeast of Twin City off Georgia Highway 23, Georgia, is an excellent place to create and enjoy memorable recreational and historical experiences. The park’s lakeside camping units and cosy cottages make it a popular place for campers and visitors to refresh, relax, and recharge.

Cottages, tent, trailer, and RV campsites, primitive campsites, picnic shelters, pioneer campground, group shelter, playground, and a Historic Covered Bridge and Mill are among the amenities available at the 1,634-acre park. Biking, birding, boating, fishing, geocaching, hiking, picnicking, kayaking, and canoeing are among the activities available at Georgia L. Smith State Park.

George L. Smith State Park is well known for the restored Parrish Mill and Pond, an 1880 gristmill, saw mill, covered bridge, and dam. Anglers and paddlers are drawn to the mill pond by thick stands of cypress and tupelo trees draped in Spanish moss.

Boats can be rented at the park, and nearby outfitters offer guided paddle trips.

George L. Smith Campground in George L. Smith State Park has 23 pet-friendly RV, trailer, and tent campsites. Four of the campsites are designated as premium, while the remaining 19 are classified as standard. One of the premium campsites is accessible to people with disabilities. All of the campground’s campsites have electric and water hookups for RVs. The campground’s RV length limit is 40 feet. The campground has a fish cleaning station, restrooms, picnic areas, a playground, a trailer dump station, and parking lots.

Hiking

George L. Smith State Park features hiking trails that add up to seven miles for RV campers and visitors at the park to enjoy. These trails pass along various fascinating parts of the park, including along the shores of the lake, around the cottages and playgrounds, around the primitive campsites and pioneer camp. So, pack your hiking boots on your trip to the park to enjoy scenic views along the trails as well as diverse wildlife and resplendent flora.

Fishing

George L. Smith State Park’s 412-acre lake is open for fishing all year. As a result, RV campers enjoy visiting the park to engage in angling activities. Anglers and RV campers can catch largemouth bass, crappie, bluegills, pickerel, channel catfish bass, tupelos, and cypress at the park. To enhance the catching experience, the park includes a fishing dock. To catch fish in the park, you must be 16 or older and have a valid fishing license.

Boating

RV campers at George L. Smith State Park can bring their own boats or rent one to go boating on the lake. So, as long as your boat complies with the State’s safety laws, you can come on RV vacation with it. Otherwise, you can take advantage of the park’s boat rentals. Private boats on the lake are limited to 10 horsepower. All private and rented boats must be removed from the water by sunset. There are two boat ramps in the park.

Picnicking

Campers and visitors can enjoy picnics with family and friends at George L. Smith, which has two large picnic shelters and two small picnic shelters. The picnic shelters are outfitted with amenities that make picnickers’ experience at the park memorable.

George L. Smith State Park is four miles southeast of Twin City, off Georgia Highway 23, and is easily accessible by RVs, trailers, and cars. As a result, you’ll be able to easily find the park and drive around on the local paved roads that connect the various areas. Within the park, there are no driving restrictions.

Parking

George L. Smith State Park has four parking lots, three of which are located near the campground. RV campers can leave their vehicles at their campsites while visiting the park. The park provides overnight parking for RV campers.
