Caladesi Island State Park, located on one of the few undeveloped islands along the Gulf Coast, is only accessible by boat, but it is well worth the extra effort.
Whatever you choose to do on your trip to Caladesi Island, whether it’s a stroll along the island’s pristine beaches or a kayak trip through the bayside mangrove forest, it will be an unforgettable experience.
Traveling through the interior of the island, on a nature trail to the historic Scharrer Homestead, you’ll hear the ocean breeze whispering through old-growth slash pines and feel the embrace of expansive live oaks.
Discover why Myrtle Scharrer Betz, a homesteader who wrote about her experiences here, referred to it as “Paradise.”
Note: This is not the official Park website. However, it is an easy-to-use site, with everything you need to plan a trip.
