NATURE

The park’s major attraction, the swimming pools, are fed by a crystal clear subsurface source that keeps cool all year at 68 degrees. Two shallow ponds are being pumped with 3,600 gallons [3,600 L] of water per minute by Spring. Before crossing the western river Choctawhatchee River, youngsters can hunt for critics amid the low-lying rocks past the spill site.

RECREATION

Before the next fall, kick off the spring with a game of volleyball, fishing in the lake, riding around the park, or simply listening to the sun. Are you ready to eat? Bring a picnic or eat at Habler’s Barbeque, which is located directly across the street from the park office. There are various pavilions with picnic tables, or you can simply throw out a blanket on one of the park’s many green spaces and relax. Almost any event can benefit from the use of panels, which can be rented. Mountain trails have been built and are now open to the public.

ACCOMMODATIONS

While the pools are the main draw, the camp itself is also very appealing. There are 47 contemporary campgrounds, including seven with sewage hookups, each with a picnic table and grill, and field fires are permitted. Campers can stay in both modern and historic locations. The campground’s restrooms and playgrounds are both conveniently located.

AREA ATTRACTIONS

In the late summer and autumn, the Wiregrass region hosts a number of festivals. When visiting the area, Blue Springs is a terrific place to stay the night. National Peanut Festival in Dothan, Ozark’s Claybank Jamboree in, Brundidge Peanut Butter Festival, Lakepoint State Park in Eufaula, and Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge are just a few of the local attractions.
