The same unspoiled beauty that drew the initial settlers to Florida may still be found today. A self-guided trip through a lush hammock takes tourists to Blue Spring along an accessible boardwalk.

The Pine Island Trail is 3.6 miles long (one way) and passes through a variety of plant ecosystems, including desert-like scrub and the St. Johns River, a blackwater stream.

  • Information about trail conditions can be found on signs near the trailhead.
