Class II RAPIDS ONLY A COUPLE OF MINUTES FROM THE CITY OF TAMPA
At the moment, the pool is closed for maintenance, and it is anticipated to reopen to the public in the summer of 2023. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
After Christmas Day 2021, the Hillsborough River State Park ranger station will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, starting on December 2. If you pay with cash after the ranger station has closed, you must give the ranger exact change in order to receive credit. Both the café and the swimming pool have been closed. The fort will not be open for tours, and kayak rentals will not be available.
While repairs are being carried out on the stationary bridge, it will be closed. Please check this page periodically for any updates.

Everything from fishing in the Hillsborough River to hiking or biking on the trails to picnicking under pavilions built in the 1930s can be found here, and there is something for everyone.
Along with taking part in a living history lesson, visitors will have the opportunity to kayak or canoe through class II river rapids, which are uncommon in Florida, and hike seven miles of nature trails.
A second popular activity at Hillsborough River State Park, which is located just a short distance from the bustling city of Tampa, is camping.
