Introduction of West Rock Ridge State Park
The West Rock Ridge Park Association was founded in 1974 with the goal of “urging the state to acquire more land to complete the park” and “acting as a watchdog to prevent inappropriate activities” at West Rock Ridge State Park. The park, which is located in both Hamden and New Haven, Connecticut, includes West Rock Ridge and Lake Wintergreen. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking are all popular activities.. West Rock Ridge State Park, located near several major universities such as Yale, Southern Connecticut State University, Albertus Magnus College, and the University of New Haven, has become a popular site for ecological, geological, and other environmental research. The WRRPA maintains existing trails and creates new ones as needed. It also sponsors programs about the area’s history and natural environment.
West Rock Ridge State Park Camping
West Rock Ridge State Park has many RV camping options, including Bear Creek Campground. This campground’s sites all include WiFi, a picnic table, and fire pits, making them ideal for outdoor dining. There is a general store on the property that sells firewood, snacks, and souvenirs. There are restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, as well as a variety of sports courts, and a playground to keep the kids busy.
Tokoket Valley RV Park, which has 18 full hookup sites available, is another option for RV camping. The RV park is family-owned and operated, and it has a welcoming atmosphere. Sites provide 20, 30, and 50 amp service, as well as sewer and water hookups. There is also complimentary WiFi and basic cable. Each site is pet-friendly and is set on a concrete patio with a picnic table.
